According to the Capital Region Extreme Heat Information Portal, scientists anticipate that ”heat domes will occur every three to ten years in the Capital Region over the next 24 years.
As the climate warms, the capital region can expect the number of summer days above 25°C to triple, from an average of 12 to 36 days per year by the 2050s with the 1-in-20 year hottest day temperature projected to increase from 32°C to 36°C.”
